Purpose

When I thought about what it means to live a life without regrets, I realized that I wanted to travel the world and experience the cultures of various countries.

I believe there are others who have such goal in life.

I started this blog to share the beautifully unique traditions and culture of Japan as an island nation, as well as what modern-day Japan is like.

Background

I was born and raised in Japan and spent my childhood in a quiet rural area of the Tohoku region. During university, I lived in Kyoto for four years.

I then spent eight years in Tokyo. Currently, I live in the Tohoku region with my husband and daughter.

In university, I majored in Psychology in the Faculty of Human Cultures, studying the evolution of human culture and human psychology.

My previous job was as a researcher at a market research company. After that, I found my way into a bio-venture company, where I currently support basic research conducted by researchers around the world.

My curiosity about human culture is the driving force behind my activities.
